Tropical Sunshine and the City Skyline: First Day in Los Angeles

Los Angeles treated me really well this spring break, and I thought this was a great opportunity to get back from my blogging break and start writing again. I took pictures, and I also took videos everywhere I went. The clips are currently being edited for an upcoming vlog! I will be sure to let you know and give you a link when I upload it.

The first day in a new destination is usually very relaxed for me. I don’t hesitate to wake up late and slowly rise up to the morning. So therefore, I visited friends in the morning and I had a great lunch with them. Everything changes between people once food is placed in front of them. It’s pretty interesting how ice starts to break naturally, right?

After lunch, I wandered and window-shopped the floors of The Oaks Mall. The streets of LA have a hot atmosphere, and the cool air in the mall was a great way to escape the heat outside for a while.

The Oaks Mall features many big brands, with over 180 shops and restaurants. They are open from 10 AM – 9 PM, Monday through Saturday. Sunday hours are 11 AM – 7 PM. While roaming around, I spotted several stores I’ve never seen, specializing in a lot, from chocolates to stuffed animals. There was a variety of options, if only I had that much money! I ended up in the food court, and I couldn’t help treating myself to a cup of ice cream from Häagen-Dazs.

Next, I spent the evening at Santa Monica Pier. At my arrival, I saw the beautiful sunset near the waters.

The only thing that kept me awake all night was the bright lights of the Santa Monica Boardwalk. The rides, food carts, and carnival games makes anyone feel like a little kid again. After walking around, I dropped by the Seaside On The Pier Restaurant. After a good dinner with my friends and family, we decided to drove back home to our hotel and end the day.
